Shocking Video Unearthed: Democrats in Their Own Words Covering Up the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Scam

Nancy Pelosi, the rest of the Democrats and the mainstream media have tried to lay the blame for the current financial meltdown at the feet of the Republicans.  We're told that the GOP's opposition to regulation sowed the seeds of this crisis.  Yet, this video clearly demonstrates that the Republicans tried in 2004 to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac but were blocked by Democrats who demonized their efforts. 

We can certainly argue about whether or not regulation would have been beneficial in this case, but there is something that is unarguable.

The Democrats are lying. 

They, and no one else, blocked reform of these government sponsored enterprises.  Watch the video and learn the truth.

Boy Suspended for Wearing Anti-Obama T-shirt

Daxx Dalton is a very principled boy. At the tender age of 11, not only does he have political passions, he is willing to wear them on his shirtsleeve (or at least his back) and go to the mat for them. Thus, when Aurora Frontier K-8 School made him an offer he couldn't refuse, saying he must remove his anti-Obama t-shirt, turn it inside-out or face suspension, he refused. He chose suspension.

Although I've never been a conspiracy theorist, there is no doubt that the erosion of our sense of nationhood makes us easy prey for a loss of sovereignty.  After all, if we have no common sense of what it means to be an American -- if we become just a gaggle of competing subcultures within certain borders -- how much is it going to bother us if those borders are eliminated? 

Regardless, there certainly are powerful people who relish the idea of consolidating national powers (as long as they still have their wealth and are at the helm).  In this Fox News video, it's mentioned that the odious Vicente Fox explicitly favors a North American Union, with no borders and a single currency.  Watch the whole thing, as it's at the very end.

When I consider the topsy-turvy world we live in, I can’t help but think of the Bible’s warning, “There will come a time when bad will be called good and good will be called bad.” A prime example of this is adult-child relations. In a reversal from a couple of generations ago, a child can strike an adult and it’s sometimes shrugged off, but if an adult disciplines a youngster corporally, the police may come a-knockin’. (By the way, if society would arrest someone for using physical force against a minor based on the supposition that it isn’t a proper remedy for intransigence or misbehavior, why do the authorities use same against the suspect if he resists arrest? Can’t they just reason with him or give him a time-out?) The thinking, I suppose, is that adults should know better. They certainly should: they should know that such permissive ideas do violence to our capacity to civilize the young.

Political Elections, Cultural Elections, and the Votes that Really Matter

To be honest, treating politics isn’t my favorite pastime. Sure, like other commentators I do it, but it’s not something I can truly sink my teeth into. I’ll explain why momentarily.

This election season, my pen has directed many slings and arrows Barack Obama’s way. I criticized John McCain, too, but that was during the primaries. Now there is what I perceive to be a clear and present danger in the person of a slick demagogue, so my sights – and my site – are trained in one particular direction. Because of this, however, I sometimes receive emails from disenchanted rightist voters. “What do you have to say about McCain?” some ask. “How is he any better than Obama?”

My feelings toward such respondents vacillate between surliness and sympathy. I understand why they feel the way they do, but they don’t understand me. I’m neither a party man nor a doctrinarian. I’m probably at least as dissatisfied with our wanting candidates as those who write me, and I can sum up my reasoning very simply:

Both candidates deserve to lose.

Only, one deserves to lose more.
