In keeping with the practice of arresting parents who spank ill-behaved brats and having taxpayers subsidize borrowers who can't live within their means, a rancher has just been punished for defending his own property. Writes Reuters:
The civil jury at the U.S. District Court in Tucson, Arizona, found Roger Barnett liable for assault and intentionally inflicting emotional distress in the incident in March 2004. It ordered him to pay four women $73,352 in damages, attorneys for the plaintiffs said.
It appears that all Barnett did was make a citizens arrest, using the threat of a gun and a large dog to hold the invaders for the authorities. So, I have to ask: What is the problem?
Such ranchers are just doing jobs American authorities won't do.
A story such as this is a quick righteousness test. If someone doesn't feel outrage at the rewarding of these lawbreakers, he is a person with a warped moral compass -- otherwise known as a leftist.
Also, the average American has no idea how pathetic these actions make us look to the rest of the world. Do you think this makes us seem "the bigger man"? Do you think it's viewed as taking the high road? Do you think it's fancied nobility? It's not. I wrote about this two years ago in a piece titled "Soft People, Hard People," and here is a relevant passage:
. . . make no mistake, they laugh. Why do you think the Mexican government distributed literature instructing its citizens on how to best violate our southern border? Why did Islamists issue advice on how to play the victim card in the American legal system? They don't tolerate such under their dominion, but they know about our lawsuits, protests, pandering politicians and capitulating clergy. They know the game. They know us. And they don't really think we're barbaric or unjust.
They think we're weak and stupid.
Yes, they really do, you leftist quislings (yes, that's a redundancy). And, no, you're not better than they are. You're just softer, more effete, and at least as corrupt. You are the walking, talking cyanide capsules of civilization.

Your right m.
In a spit of irony, Attorney General Eric Holder said, "Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards,"
What makes cowards? Fear. Why are people inclined towards political correctness? Fear. The story written by Selwyn, featured a rancher on the wrong side of PC law but on the right side of the actual law. Supposedly he has the right to defend his property against trespass, and his country against illegal activity. This rancher is a patriot in my book. In his actions he was doing his small part to protect our society from foreign invaders. In this instance the invaders were not armed marauders, but simply carriers of an inferior cultural influence. I am sure a few readers are hitting the roof right now, but let me explain. I am not saying Mexicans are inferior nor any other race of people for that matter, but what I am saying is their culture is. Their culture has not progressed or regressed based upon their genetics at all. Their culture is as it is due to conditioning, as are all cultures. The leadership and government of Mexico are a model of instability, tyranny and corruptness. I am not saying the Mexican people display those traits, but they have learned to survive and adapt under those conditions. It is a very different lifestyle and world view than the one we have enjoyed in this nation. For this reason we have very specific "reconditioning" classes before legal citizenship can be claimed in the USA. I have good friends that are Mexican, Black, Romanian, Ukrainian, and Persian and so on. Many of them are first generation Americans. They hate illegal immigration. They moved here to enjoy America and not to change it. Our founders got it right the first time. John Jay our nations first Chief Justice to the Supreme Court said it well in The Federalist paper #2
"With equal pleasure I have as often taken notice that Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people--a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs..."
By reading the excerpt a PC type would accuse Jay of being a racist, but of course without any form of supplementary evidence. Jay and his son were amongst a very devout group that opposed slavery and promoted equal rights. I digress to the intent of the statement. He is pointing out commonality in culture is a benefit to establishment and perpetually of government. If one is to come to America by legal means welcome! Jump into the melting pot and melt. Melt to the shape of the pot.

Agreed you cannot get greater unity out of greater diversity. We are a melting pot of people. We are not a conglomerate of tiny nations and cultures within a single nation. We must rediscover, our heritage, our identity and defend it cherish it not be ashamed of it. We must must must repent to the one God that blessed our nation and protected it against our enemies. The God of Abraham. We have turned our back on him and he has turned his on us. We have put our faith in men, secular humanism. Look at what has happened.
