Yours is the best assessment I have read so far. I agree a conservative will never be elected to high office again. I also agree with Rush that the leftist power elite truly hate us. The left does not look at us as political opposition they look at us the personification of evil.

When our Winter comes, and the left acquires complete control they will kill us, because there are no longer any lost lands for us to hide in.

Selwyn,

I have been reading every piece that you have written over the last several years. This piece is truly your masterpiece.

Thank you for your wisdom and your eloquence.

Thank you Philip and D. I actually said to an editor that I think God was guiding my pen when I wrote this one. And I'm very pleased by the response it has received. Hopefully it will help wake some people up.

God bless,

Selwyn Duke

What makes you so sure that a conservative will never be elected president again? It's not like the GOP has nominated one recently. Could we at least be strict empiricists and TRY it next time?

I also don't like your puzzling (and patently undocumented) assumption that a liberal such as Mitt Romney is somehow BOUND to be more electable than a Bachmann, Perry or Santorum.

And SPEAKING of governors and local politics, perhaps this election is a clarion call for us to reform a corrupt primary process that (in supposedly "proportional" contests) awards 60 percent of the delegates to a liberal candidate who won just 40 percent of the votes.

The two reactions I had in the despair post-election was he stole it (but that's what dictators do) and that you can't sustain a constitutional republic with an ignorant, shallow, degraded populace. The anomaly of history that was our republic requires engaged, intelligent citizenry with strong character. I doubt Franklin, when he said it's a republic if you can keep it, thought it would even last as long as it did.

Thank you for such excellent and insightful commentary. I'm glad to have discovered this website.
