In the past, professional and college sports provided periods of escapism where you could view contests of superior athleticism and forget your troubles for a few hours.
Nowadays, sports have been co-opted by the political left and have now become bastions of political correctness, Colin Kaepernick’s infantile antics being the current pinnacle.
I have chosen to remove sports from my itinerary and put the time saved to more productive use. This has also relieved me from having to watch any of the commercials of the sponsoring corporations, and buying their (mostly) useless products.
Sports are now like an appendix. It is something that is present within the body, but performs no useful function. And when it becomes a problem, it is easily excised without harm.

What a thoughtful and articulate comment. I commend you, sir.

Flash Kellam

Thank you, Philip. I have enjoyed reading your comments over the years as well.
By the way…
A king has poured wine into only two of the three goblets set before him. What is the king’s name?

Philip France

Wild guess... Belshazzar?

Flash Kellam

Nope.
The king’s name is… Philip the Third.

When I was a wee lad of five or six years old, my favorite Aunt referred to me as a "wealth of useless information". Welcome to the club!
