Every generation in every place has its perils. There was the fall of Rome in 476; the medieval Black Death; the ninth-century Viking occupation of England; and, generally, continual periods of privation, pestilence, and oppression throughout history. Today is no exception, either, and one of the latest challenges, we hear, is plaguing Gen Z: menu anxiety.

No, this isn’t the Onion or Babylon Bee; I’m not suddenly on fire for satire (though it does sometimes feel as if I’m in a Twilight Zone episode).

The “Great Sort”: Is the U.S. Slowly, but Surely, Breaking Apart?

In the run-up to an election, we so often hear people of a certain political persuasion swear that if ______ (fill in the blank) wins the presidency, they’ll leave the U.S. They never seem to, of course. Yet this doesn’t mean Americans aren’t voting with their feet.

In fact, say some analysts, a “Big Sort” is occurring in which conservative Americans are fleeing liberal states for “red” ones, while leftists are more likely to stay in their “blue” bastions and may even, to a lesser extent, move to such places from more traditionalist locales.

This phenomenon is making Florida, for example, more conservative, say these analysts; and it should mean generally that red states will become redder and blue states, bluer, as the U.S. bifurcates ideologically.

What’s more, this isn’t the only way in which we’re increasingly becoming “two Americas.”

Purple-haired Progressives to Pious Muslims? Some SJWs are Intrigued With Islam

“When people cease believing in God, it’s not that they start to believe in nothing; it’s that they’ll believe in anything,” goes a common encapsulation of G.K. Chesterton’s ideas. This could come to mind, and did, when pondering a question commentator Daniel Greenfield recently asked. To wit:

“How do you create a generation that will believe in anything?”

The point of Greenfield’s piece is, essentially, that we have cultural mutants among us who are ever mutating further. In particular, “After Oct 7, some purple-haired genderqueer activists on TikTok have taken to reading the Koran and are pondering converting to Islam,” the writer relates. “That may seem like a leap, but once you’re a teenage girl who decides to be a boy for internet clout, changing to Islam is less difficult.” No question.

(It also provides something sexual devolutionary agendas don’t: Firm structure, guide rails for living life.)

Killing Wokeness: A City Canceled “Pride,” Black History, and Women’s History Months — in California!

As Western civilization’s cold civil war heats up, “conservatives” finally appear to be ceasing to be conservative, as in defensive. Last week we heard about a school guidance in England that dials back the “trans” agenda and how Oklahoma schools are nixing DEI and drag queens and welcoming religion. Now, this week, comes a similar story from perhaps the least likely place.

The place is Huntington Beach — in California — and the move is bold. Vowing to be “free of any identity politics and political agendas,” the municipality’s government has eliminated “Pride,” black history, women’s history months, and more.

Constitution Does NOT Dictate That Satanic Displays Must Get Equal Time in Public Square

In the very tiresome battles over whether one religious element can be in the public realm without being accompanied by other “religious” elements that someone, somewhere, claims to value, a simple point is missed:

We do have the right to freedom of religion.

But this does not equate to the right to equal government showcasing of religion.

The issue at hand is that cultural devolutionaries have for years now applied a religion-focused Cloward-Piven strategy, through which they seek to eliminate all public-square religious expression by inundating the system with equal-time requests for “religious” expression ranging from the evil to the asinine.

Christmas Present? Oklahoma Schools Nix Drag Queens and DEI; Welcome Jesus Back

Following a story yesterday about English authorities pushing back against “trans” radicalism in their schools comes another example of reasonableness rising against risible radicalism:

Oklahoma is saying no to sexual devolutionary ideas and racialism in their schools — and yes to what has always been in them: faith.

Shocking New Poll Points to Reality of MASSIVE 2020 Vote Fraud

The mainstream media love talking about polls, especially those showing support for their favored candidates and agendas. We hear about who’s up, who’s down, what’s hip, what brings a frown. But there’s a blockbuster new poll they may want to memory-hole, for a simple reason:

It vindicates the claim that the 2020 election was stolen from President Donald Trump.

In fact, The Heartland Institute/Rasmussen poll finds, one in five mail-in voters (20 percent) admit to having committed some type of vote fraud during that contest.

Rainbow Worm Turning? School Guidance: Presume Kids CAN’T Change “Gender”

“If something can’t go on, it won’t,” the paraphrase of economist Herb Stein goes. And thus did mass hysteriae such as the Salem witch trials, medieval dancing plagues, and Tanganyika laughter epidemic inevitably end. So it will be with the MUSS (Made-up Sexual Status, aka “transgender”) agenda. The only question is when.

Perhaps providing a clue is a new guidance for English schools, scheduled to be published Tuesday, that reportedly will dial back on the imposition of some of the MUSS agenda’s most radical dictates.

Number of “Excess” Americans Dying Young Now Exceeds ALL Post-Vietnam War Losses

“I’d describe it as catastrophic.” So said Food and Drug Administration commissioner Robert Califf in a recent series of tweets about a troubling but ignored problem: the major decline in life expectancy among young, working age people.

In fact, the number of “unexpected or, ‘excess,’ deaths, which claimed 158,000 more Americans in the first nine months of 2023 than in the same period in 2019 … exceeds America’s combined losses from every war since Vietnam,” wrote The Hill last week.

Some people want this problem to remain ignored, too. Just consider that “America’s chief health manager, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, opted in September to archive its excess deaths webpage with a note stating, “these datasets will no longer be updated”....
