Robert Berger

The main reason for the declining birth rate in America is due to the fact that it has become more difficult than ever for Americans to get married, stay married and raise children in stable conditions - economically .
It's now very difficult financially for couples to provide for two children let alone seven or more .The costs of getting married and providing for children are simply too high for Americans in general .And ironically, this is the result of the disastrously counterproductive social and economic policies which the Republican party has inflicted on America ever since Ronald Reagan was president .
The Republicans, beginning with Reagan, imposed disastrous supply side "trickle down" economics on America, and they have been stymying the Democrats from gettign rid of those awful economic policies . Supply side economics is based on the false premise that given more and more tax cuts to tyhe richest Americans will automatically create general prosperity and that the crumbs from the tables of the rich will somehow "trickle down" to the poor and middle class .
But prosperity does not trickle down. It never has and never will . If most of the American people cannot live secure lives and are forced to struglle to keep their heads above water , they will never be able to flourish . We now have a tiny handful of staggeringly rich Americans hoarding who knows how much money to themselves . Too many do NOT pay their fair share in taxes. This is why most American can't have nice things.
