Of course, we’re seldom shocked to hear that politics is, well, political. But what about when study authors themselves bury, or otherwise obscure, inconvenient data? This not only happens, says a Ph.D. scientist with more than 20 years experience, but is actually common in research. In fact, the picture painted by Dr. Lorene Leiter reveals, the mainstream science establishment is much like our mainstream media establishment: a realm where lies may reign supreme.

Boys can be suspended and expelled from school at higher rates than girls, and they are. Yet no one calls it discriminatory; in fact, almost nobody even mentions it.

When black and Hispanic students are suspended and expelled from school at higher rates than white students, however, it’s a different story. Then not only is it called discriminatory, but the government will pressure schools to “equalize” the numbers. Yet as Professor Thomas Sowell put it in 2014, “Unless you believe that black boys cannot possibly be misbehaving more often than Asian American girls, what does this political numbers game accomplish?”

The answer: the implementation of social engineering.

Socialist/Communist Influencers Aim to Make Socialism Great(?) Again

They want to MASA: Make socialism great again. Or, so they would say, claiming to their millions of social-media followers that it actually did and does work. Really, truly — you just missed it, somehow.

At issue are socialist/communist “influencers,” who, ironically, earn big money via “capitalism” influencing people to embrace socialism. Mounting their arguments, they make many seductive claims. Not surprisingly, however, says investigative journalist John Stossel in a new report, their claims are all smoke and mirrors.

In reality, these leftists are just riding an already existing socialist wave. Back in 2010, I wrote about how the Communist Party in Japan was rapidly winning converts and Karl Marx’s birthplace in Germany had become a tourist attraction. In 2017, MIT Press actually released a “Communism for Kids” book. And then there was the 2021 survey finding that 41 percent of Americans overall, and 51 percent of young adults, view socialism positively. It all could bring to mind, too, an observation by German philosopher Georg Hegel. “The only thing that we learn from history,” a paraphrase of him goes, “is that we learn nothing from history.”

Ponder the following examples of your tax money at work. USAID, the U.S. Agency for International Development, paid almost $2 million to empower “transgender” organizations in Guatemala. It spent about $1.5 million to promote the “LGBTQ+ diversity” agenda in Serbia. It also reportedly allowed at least $151 million in aid money to go to terrorists in Gaza and the West Bank. Here’s what’s even worse, too:

Far from being anomalies, this reflects long-standing USAID abuses.

Moreover, if you want to know why the Left has been so politically and culturally powerful for so long, part of the reason is that entities such as USAID have been funding hard-left causes for decades — again, with money extracted from Americans at, metaphorically speaking, the end of a gun. And wait till you see the short list, farther down below, of the organization’s malevolent use of those funds.

The Fakery That is the War on Fake News

Author and university lecturer Nolan Higdon may not be pondering anything so ethereal. What he is sure of is that, as he wrote Sunday at Salon, the “war on fake news has backfired.” As to his meaning, his subtitle tells the tale and the Truth. To wit:

“Content moderation was never about eradicating fake news.”

Biden Warns of Tech “Oligarchs” — Now That Tech ISN’T Censoring for Dems Anymore

As I had on many other occasions, in 2020 I warned of a “dystopia-delivering tech oligarchy.” I cited Dr. Robert Epstein, a liberal who’s the senior research psychologist at the American Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology, and his studies on Big Tech influence. His findings were alarming, too. Big Tech, he warned, could shift 15 million votes toward a given presidential candidate at election time. That’s more than sufficient to swing a White House race, do note, especially given how close our elections now are.

Oddly enough, though, neither Joe Biden nor any other Democratic office holder complained about this tech “oligarchy” back then. Yet lo and behold, Biden has changed his tune. In fact, in his farewell speech Wednesday evening, he warned that a “tech” oligarchy was seizing control of America.

What explains this epiphany?

Well, an inveterate cynic might suppose he’s just upset that much of Big Tech has stopped censoring for Democrats.

Philosopher C.S. Lewis once noted that it’s what slips from our mouths when we’re not thinking that reveals our hearts. This could come to mind with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s claim that those demanding an inquiry into child-abusing rape gangs are jumping “on a bandwagon of the far Right.”

Delivered at a Monday press conference, Starmer’s comments were in response to a firestorm of criticism ignited by entrepreneur Elon Musk. Musk had resurrected the rape-gang story via his X social-media platform mere days ago, as I reported this weekend.

The prime minister’s efforts at flipping the script appear to have backfired, however. That is, many critics say that implicit in his remarks is that child sex abuse is just a right-wing concern. History may inform that he’s not all wrong about that, either (more on this later). Also notable here is that this controversy is shaping up to be a classic Establishment/anti-Establishment conflict.

It was a shocking revelation. U.K. authorities ignored a child-trafficking ring — and the beating, terrorizing, and sexual abuse of native British girls — for 16 years. It was for a very troubling reason, too:

The perpetrators were Muslim.

In fact, one whistleblower was actually warned, “You must never [again] refer to Asian [Muslim] men,” and your “awareness of ethnic issues” needs to be raised. Why, she was even forced into “diversity training.”

A New Year’s Resolution That Could Spark Revolution

It’s that season again, that time for New Year’s resolutions, when we put our minds to perhaps giving up junk food or engaging in regular exercise. Yet while this is all well and good, even better is to add to it the aim of purging the spiritual junk food of sin from one’s life and exercising virtue. And while the virtues are many, one that perhaps warrants some special attention is honesty.

British anthropologist Thomas Henry Huxley once stated that “veracity is the heart of morality.” It makes sense, too. Just as we can’t understand what is proper tennis instruction or medical care if we imbibe lies relating to the endeavor’s principles, how can we know what is proper morality if we’re subject to lies relating to it?
